We recently made a number of improvements to our installment plan, so here’s how to sign up and take advantage of these changes. You can do so by following these five easy steps!
1) Choose your card
I would like to know the 5 easy steps to set up my MCB credit card installment plan for 2022.
- In order to set up an installment plan, you must first make a purchase on an eligible credit card.
- Next, visit your MyMCBCard online account and go to Manage Your Account
- Click Installment Plans
- You will be prompted with three different options: sign up now; sign up later; or cancel this reminder notice
- Select either sign up now or sign up later, depending on when you are planning on making the payment
- Next, select the date of when you will make your payment (must be at least 30 days after the date of purchase).
- Once you have completed these steps and confirmed that they are accurate in your account information page, click Submit.
2) Activate your account
It's time to plan for the future! Activate your account today and set up a credit card installment plan that will have you paying off your balance by 2022. You can even customize the date of your first payment so it lines up with when you expect to receive income from a specific event like an inheritance, holiday bonus, or new job. Once activated, payments will be automatically deducted from your checking account on the day they're due every month until you've paid off the full balance*. Don't forget: Your first payment must be at least $10, so make sure there's enough money in your bank account before proceeding.*
3) Set up your budget
Starting a budget is the best way to get control of your finances and prepare for the future. Once you set a budget, there are a few other things you can do that will give you peace of mind. Start by calculating what's coming in, what's going out, and how much you have left over. Make sure that all of these numbers add up to more than zero! If they don't, then it might be time to rethink some things.
Next, look at the big expenses coming up in the next year or two – like college tuition or car repairs – and decide if there are any ways that you could put off paying them until after 2020.
4) Shop around
Since there are many different options and plans to choose from, it is important that you shop around and do your research when deciding which credit card installment plan is right for you. Here are 5 easy steps you can follow in order to set up an MCB Credit Card Installment Plan:
- Research the various offers available by looking at interest rates, repayment periods, fees etc.
- Check if there are any offers specifically tailored towards your needs (e.g. 0% APR on balance transfers)
- Find out how much time is left before the offer expires
- Compare the total cost of each plan over a given period of time (eg. 12 months)
- Decide which offer suits you best and apply!
5) Start using your card
- Log in with your card number, expiry date and CVV code.
- Choose the Credit Card Payment option on the left-hand side of the screen under Payment Options.
- Scroll down and choose Set up Payee.
- Select the name you want to set up as a payee from the list that appears or enter a new payee's name.
(Note: You can also edit or delete this information). 5. Select Add Payment Details on the right-hand side of the screen below where it says Pay now. This will bring you back to step 4 where you'll need to enter all the payment details (payee, amount etc.).
